Build Web Funnels for Your Mobile App — No Backend Required
Turn every Superwall placement into a shareable checkout URL that runs Stripe checkout and links the purchase back to your app — no authentication and no backend to build.
With Superwall Web Checkout, every placement becomes a shareable checkout URL that runs Stripe and links the purchase back to your app — no auth, no backend.
Web2app usually sounds like a backend project — auth, billing, webhooks, account linking. With Superwall Web Checkout, it isn't.
Why it matters
Plenty of would-be subscribers click an ad, land on a page, and bounce because there's no way to pay right there. Web checkout opens that channel so your funnel doesn't have to start in the App Store.
Web paywalls and web2app are a rising frontier for the growth teams we talk to — they want app and web monetization to move together, and they want to move faster. The blocker has always been the engineering: standing up checkout, auth, and account linking before you can test anything. Web Checkout removes that blocker so a growth team can ship and test a web funnel without an app release or an engineering queue.
What you can do with Superwall
Turn any placement into a checkout URL. Each web checkout link maps to a placement in a campaign — e.g. the placement
black-friday-promobecomeshttps://yourapp.superwall.app/black-friday-promo. Every campaign also ships with a$homeplacement that works as the bare-domain default.Charge with no backend. Checkout is powered by Stripe, with no authentication required from the buyer. Supports subscriptions and Stripe one-time purchases for lifetime access or credit packs.
A/B test and price test on the web. Web checkout is a normal Superwall campaign, so you get experiments, audience filters, and price tests — the same toolkit you use in-app.
Personalize with query strings. Append parameters to any link to drive audience filters or paywall variables, pre-fill the buyer's email at checkout (
?email=), or set a customapp_user_id.Show local prices. With Stripe Adaptive Pricing, international buyers can see a localized currency at checkout.
Ship without a mobile app. Web-only checkout uses Redirect mode to send buyers to your URL with their purchase data so you can grant access directly.
How it works
- Add a Web Checkout app to an existing Superwall project.
- Connect Stripe via the Superwall Stripe app and set your post-purchase behavior.
- Create or import products in Stripe and attach them to a paywall.
- In a campaign, create placements — each becomes a unique web checkout link you can share.
- A user visits the link, sees your paywall, and completes Stripe checkout.
- After purchase, the user follows your post-purchase behavior. Redeem mode (the default) prompts them to download the app and tap a redemption link that deep-links into your app and fires
willRedeemLink()thendidRedeemLink(result:)in theSuperwallDelegate. Redirect mode sends them to your URL with purchase data (app_user_id,email,stripe_subscription_id).
No authentication and no custom backend are required for either path — though if you have your own PurchaseController or use RevenueCat, you can merge web and device entitlements.
Proof from customers
Web paywalls and web2app rank among the top jobs growth teams bring to us — they consistently ask to move faster on web funnels and to understand the value coming from web users. The recurring theme: connect web and app monetization without splitting the growth stack into separate engineering projects. Web Checkout answers that directly by running web funnels on the same campaign engine, experiments, and analytics teams already use in-app — so web becomes one more surface to test, not a separate build.
Use cases
Paid acquisition landing pages — point an ad straight at a checkout link instead of the App Store.
Seasonal and influencer campaigns — use query-string personalization for promos like
black-friday-promo.Win-back and email offers — send a discounted checkout link with the buyer's email pre-filled.
Web-only products — sell from a website or SaaS app with Redirect mode and grant access yourself.
Price and paywall experiments on the web — A/B test variants and price points without an app release.
